This is not even formal writing, not sure why I wanted to follow a set of rules to write my blog..!! Sure will help lots though.
I want to start writing in paragraph format again, crazy me...you start with the introduction or your thesis statement, follow by three to four supporting statements, then the conclusion. If you elaborate that into five paragraphs, it become an essay...yay, whatever that means, you think this applies to Chinese writing too?
I think the last time I ever wrote one was back when I took course at a community college. They make every student take an essay writing course and actually it was a course that I had the most fun with during that time. It discovered my "potential" to write, some hidden talent that I did not even know. After all said and done, why wouldn't I finish this blog writing with a paragraph, topic based on recent experience on meeting new friends.
As we get older, we become more secluded in our own world, rather than going out to include others in ours. It may be the experiences in life, good or bad, guiding us down this path. Or may be we have no time since we are now much more occupied in our daily rituals such as checking emails, facebook...etc. Or simply just pure laziness since it takes much less effort to text than to talk and listen. Overall, the world now prefers any methods that bring acquaintances virtually, instead of sitting down sipping coffee face to face.
